It's not quite the 25th in this exchange's operative time zone (UTC), but it is the 25th somewhere, and I'm going to be a little busy tomorrow, so... better early than late!

I realize that I've neglected to mention this, but when nominating tropes, please make sure that you specify whether it's a soulmate or a soulbond trope. Some people will only want to match on one or the other, so it's important to be clear!

Just to be totally clear, what's the difference between soulmates and soulbonds?

Repeating my answer from here:

The generally accepted distinction is that soulmates are two or more people who are inherently linked to one another and always have been, from birth or earlier, while a soulbond happens when two or more people are linked to one another at some point in their lives, whether by magic, weird sex rules being in play in that universe, or some other reason.

You are going to have massive tag migration issues if you don't disambiguate the comic book related fandoms. Those and Tolkien tend to migrate a lot otherwise.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm not entirely sure it'll be an issue, since the minimum number of relationships to offer and request is 1. I'll just mean that some relationships wind up in fandoms other than where they were nominated, but where the characters still exist, right?

Nope, sadly that isn't the case. If you don't disambiguate then you will get massive tag migration between various fandoms that are sort of related. Just look at all the issues that http://familyex.dreamwidth.org/ had. They didn't disambiguate at first and there was massive tag migration that took multiple posts to fix and sometimes the original nominator wouldn't come back to clarify where the tag was supposed to be.

I am confused? When I went to nominate, it said that crossover nominations could be nominated beneath either of the parent fandoms. I didbthat, but now, the only two if my nominations that have not been approved are my crossover nominations.

They are:

Looking at my nominations, I am seeing that there is a third one not approved but I am guessing it's because if how it's written? I wrote The Coven & The Boyos because in the books The Black Jewels the circle or thirteen powerful young witches and their very very close male friends are referred to by everyone as The Coven (the girls) and The Boyos (the boys). The two groups are very closely bonded and loyal to each other and the tag set has never allowed for twenty-five names in one before.

Hi, thanks for commenting. I was actually going to make a post about these tags this afternoon if you hadn't said something.

The note on the nominations form that says to nominate crossover relationships under either of the parent fandoms is pre-filled in by Ao3. There is no way for moderators to remove it. In the tag set there's a fandom called "Crossover Fandom", so please nominate crossovers there in the format:

- Lucy Pevensie (Narnia)/Daemonar Yaslana (Black Jewels)
- Jaenelle Angelline (Black Jewels) & Phoebe Halliwell (Charmed)

I wasn't entirely sure what to do with the third nomination, but since there are so many characters involved I'll go ahead and approve it as-is; Ao3 tags have a limitation of 100 characters (that is, letters/numbers/spaces) so all the names definitely won't fit if you try to write it out the long way.
